Make your voice heard!

Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Absentee voting will begin on Friday, September 19. This is an important decision for our students, schools, and community. Make sure to cast your ballot on or before Election Day. 

There are three ways to vote:

    • To vote by absentee ballot, first complete the Absentee Ballot Application online or request an application form be mailed to you by contacting the Auditor-Treasurer’s Elections Office at 507-434-2614.

    • Return the completed application to the following address:

      • Mower County Auditor-Treasurer, 201 1st Street NE, Suite 7, Austin, MN 55912 

    • Once the application is received back, an absentee ballot will be mailed to you.

      • Completed ballots can be mailed back to or dropped off at the Mower County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office (201 1st Street NE, Suite 7, Austin MN 55912).

    • Completed ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4 to be counted.

    • Absentee vote in person weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mower County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office in the Mower County Government Center at 201 1st Street NE, Austin. 

      • Extended absentee voting hours: 

        • Saturday, November 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

        • Monday, November 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

      • Park and enter the Government Center on the northwest side of the building near the Law Enforcement Center.

    • Polls will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the following locations:

    • Austin City Hall (500 Fourth Avenue NE, Austin, MN). This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District No. 492 located in the City of Austin, Ward 1, Precinct l and Lansing Township.

    • Austin High School (301 Third Street NW, Austin, MN). This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District 492 located in the City of Austin, Ward 1, Precinct 2; City of Mapleview; Newry Township and Oakland Township.

    • Banfield Elementary School (301 17th Street SW, Austin, MN). This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District 492 located in the City of Austin, Ward 2, Precinct 2; London Township and Moscow Township.

    • Ellis Middle School (1700 Fourth Avenue SE, Austin, MN). This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District 492 located in the City of Austin, Ward 3, Precinct 2; Lyle Township and Windom Township.

    • Southgate Elementary School (1601 19th Avenue SW, Austin, MN). This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District 492 located in the City of Austin, Ward 2, Precinct 1 and Austin Township.

    • Mower County Senior Citizen Center (400 Third Avenue NE, Austin, MN). This combined polling place serves all territory in Independent School District 492 located in the City of Austin, Ward 3, Precinct I; Red Rock Township; Udolpho Township and Waltham Township.
